Travel theme: Food | Minute descriptions of me *Kristopher*

Inspiration for this weeks theme of FOOD comes to us from Ailsa over at?Where`s my backpack, you really need to check out her post on the foodie heaven of New York.?My contribution this week details a small restaurant in a most unlikely place.

Welcome to Gravity Worx, excellent food in rural Japan! If you ever find yourself in Nagano Prefecture and happen to be stopping by places that hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics, I would have to recommend taking the time to venture to Hakuba. It was the location of ski jumping, as well as some downhill and one or two nordic events. It is also home to a large log cabin that houses Gravity Worx, an excellent place to get delicious western style food with an ever-changing seasonal menu.

Friendly and quaint entrance to a wonderful restaurant

Fresh herb oils, vinegar or plain old dried herbs for sale

As vegetables are seasonal, so too is the menu at this restaurant, this includes the drink menu

A hot mug of mulled wine, a jar of red-pepper oil, and an assortment of red tableware

Wonderful dish of Tandori Chicken Pasta prepared with all organic food, everything was made or grown by the owners

Freshly made vanilla ice cream sits atop a warm piece of bread pudding

Gravity Worx has one of the kindest ladies working there that I have met, she is friendly, funny and she is a genius at remembering people. The restaurant has a wide selection of homemade pizza, pasta, cakes and bread, in addition to the wide selection of drinks. I have been there on three occasions, all in autumn seasons and have never experienced food as good as this in Tokyo. Also while you are in Hakuba I would recommend checking out Uncle Steven?s if you are hankering for some awesome Mexican food in the middle of rural Japan, arguably the best Mexican food in the country!

Now I want to hear about your food experiences, let me know below!
