Q: We need to rent for another year or two to clean up credit after a bankruptcy and need to find a home that the sellers are willing to lease until we can buy.

A: You should contact at least three REALTORS in your area and ask for a consultation. Let them know what you are looking to do, lease purchase, and let them know about your financial challenges. Take a look around the area that your are interested in and see what signs are most prevalent. You should notice several agents that have multiple listings in the area and I would start with calling them. Lease Purchases are a tricky type of transaction, make sure that you consult an attorney before signing any documents.

A: Any licensed real estate agent can help you with this. Most all Metro areas have homes that are a possible lease purchase or owner financed, usually they are homes that have been on the market for a while and the owner has already relocated. I would suggest contacting a Coldwell Banker office near you. Kathy Copeland
