Also, it will supply you information on the current status of the train, status of the train which means whether the train is on time or got delayed and the time at which the train is expected to arrive at the concerned station and depart from the same.
In the past, there was only one option to check the PNR status of the train. But today, there are multiple options to check the PNR status, the timing of the train and its reservation enquiry too. One easy option is to dial 139 which is a centralized toll free number and place an enquiry. Or you can choose to go online on the websites irctc.co.in or indianrail.gov.in in order to know the current status of the train, seat availability or PNR status. It is possible to get your PNR status by smsing PNR to 54959.
