True North, a diversified manufacturer of bags and clothing for firefighting and industrial safety, is looking to hire a Product Designer for both apparel and bag work. True North has been an industry leader for 20 years and is looking for an accomplished, motivated designer to join our team. True North offices are located in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle. Learn more about True North at www.truenorthgear.com Responsibilities: Work with the Senior Product Designer, Production Manager, and Sales Team to develop design ideas and physical production of prototypes for new and revised products. Must be proficient in various sewing methods and fabrics as well as in basic product design and manufacturing, including scheduling projects. Responsibilities: ? Develop new products and revise current product designs ? Develop & revise patterns ? Participate and/or lead fit sessions ? Sew prototypes to design specifications ? Create bills of materials ? Create spec packs & technical drawings ? Work with factories to achieve desired production quality ? Maintain design room including material management, maintenance issues and housekeeping ? Assist senior designer in creating timelines for completion of product development Tools/Equipment Used: ? Industrial sewing equipment ? Various hand tools, razor knives, scissors, pattern products ?
