Illinois Valley Community College freshman Alec Schwab of Peru has been named to the Arrowhead Conference second team.
Schwab, a 6-2 guard from St. Bede, missed being selected to the five-player Arrowhead first team by one vote. In conference play, Schwab averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals. He shot 40.2 percent from 3-point range, 46.3 percent overall and 66.7 percent from the line.
In other Eagle news, freshman Michael Murray of Princeton was named Region IV, Division II Player of the Week. In IVCC's regular season finale at Carl Sandburg, an 83-63 win, Murray scored 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, pulled down 11 rebounds and had 4 steals and two assists.
6 Streator wrestlers move on to IKWF sectionals
The Streator Wrestling Club participated in the Mendota Regional over the weekend with six individuals advancing to the Rock Island Sectional.
Cippy Lopez claimed the Senior 14-year-old 215-pound weight class title for Streator.
