Carl Weathers played Apollo Creed in "Rocky." Now the franchise reportedly will tackle a film where Rocky trains Creed's grandson.
Yo, Adrian! Rocky Balboa remains unstoppable. A seventh "Rocky" movie is in the works, according to Deadline, and this time Rocky will be training one-time opponent Apollo Creed's grandson to duke it out in the ring.
No date has been announced for the new film, titled "Creed," but Deadline has a plot summary. Fans will recall Apollo Creed was Rocky's title opponent in the original "Rocky," which came out in 1976. In the upcoming film, Creed's grandson was raised rich thanks to grandpa's boxing winnings, and doesn't plan to become a fighter despite his natural talents. When he does decide to get in the ring, of course it's Rocky who steps in to train him in the family sport.
Deadline says that Michael B. Jordan, who plays Oscar Grant in the based-on-true-events "Fruitvale Station" and played Wallace on "The Wire," is in talks to play Creed's grandson. Naturally, Sylvester Stallone, 67, will return as Rocky -- who else could possibly take over that role?
There's another "Fruitvale Station" connection: Ryan Coogler, who directed that film, is set to direct, Deadline says.
Stallone last played Rocky in the 2006 reprise film "Rocky Balboa," in which he comes out of retirement for one final fight. He'll also play a boxer later this year in "Grudge Match," which also stars Robert De Niro -- himself famed for playing a fighter in 1980's "Raging Bull."

The United States Peace Corps is a volunteer organization that has been serving in Ghana since 1961. The Ghana staff is a team of highly-skilled professionals who help American Volunteers implement sustainable and appropriate development work in the areas of Health, Education and Agriculture throughout Ghana. The organization in Ghana is seeking to hire seven (7) temporary Language and Cross-Cultural Facilitators, with multiple language skills, to teach Twi, Dagbani, Dagaare, Gurune and Ewe during the Agriculture Program Pre-Service Training (September to December 2013) at the Kukurantumi Office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The U. S. Peace Corps is an agency that promotes international peace, friendship, and sustainable development by sending trained men and women, Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs), to serve in countries that have requested assistance. Pre-Service Training (PST) is a 10 ? 12 week orientation program that provides PCVs with intensive language, culture, and technical training. The LCF coordinates with the Language and Culture Coordinator (LCC) and is responsible to the Director of Programming and Training; assumes the responsibility for the design, implementation, and evaluation of Ghanaian language sessions. The LCF also serves as cultural information resources for Trainees, facilitates Trainees? cross-cultural learning, and supports the host family stay. The LCF works directly with Peace Corps Staff, partners, and PCVs and supports the U. S. Peace Corps mission in Ghana in the following main areas:
Language Training: 40%
??? Actively participates in the Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop held prior to the Pre-Service Training. Prepares all language sessions plans according to Peace Corps format, including necessary materials, visuals, activities and work sheets under the supervision of the LCC.
??? Ensures that all Peace Corps Trainees (PCTs) complete all scheduled language activities.
??? Submits all lesson plans and language materials to the LCC and teaches Ghanaian survival language according to the Peace Corps language competencies.
??? Makes appropriate changes/adaptations when teaching the language competencies according to PCTs? learning styles and feedback.
??? Teaches within planned scheme of work, identifies with language staff areas of success and challenge, offers suggestions for additional assistance to those experiencing difficulty.
??? Is accessible to Trainees outside of scheduled sessions to provide linguistic and/or cultural information/insight and encourages maximum use of Ghanaian language amongst the PCTs.
??? Reports any Trainee absence, lateness or problems, which may arise in class and/or tutoring sessions to the LCC and the Training Manager.
??? Evaluates the success of the lesson, documents comments, ideas and suggestions to assist with future implementation.
??? Assists APCDs and Technical Coordinators in designing and implementing integration of Language and Technical lessons and activities.
??? Serves as a technical resource for Trainees outside of the classroom. Is an active participant in Trainees? formal assessment/feedback interviews, provides feedback related to PST competencies/objectives.
??? Documents Trainees? behavior and informs the Training Manager.
??? Documents progress of Trainees towards the meeting of the LPI minimal level of Intermediate Mid (INTM).
??? Assists with implementing the LPI and if certified, conducts LPI tests at the end of the PST.
??? Supports with reviewing and writing of new training/ learning materials for language.
Cross-cultural Training: 40%
??? Serves as an honest and objective cultural information resource for Trainees.
??? Plans and facilitates cross-cultural sessions/activities with Trainees.
??? Is available outside ?classroom? hours to assist with cross-cultural learning.
???? Plans cultural fair and Traditional night with other LCFs and the LCC.
??? Monitors the host family-Trainee relationship during PST through periodic visits to homestay families.
??? Problem-solves situations with home stay families; if the issue is serious, solicits advice from the Homestay Coordinator and/or Training Manager.
??? Acts as a community contact person when necessary for communication, information-sharing, and liaison with the Training Manager, PST Director and/other Coordinators.
??? Actively participates in all committee activities that will foster team-building and support.
Safety and Security: 20%
??? Documents and reports to the Training Manager, any safety and security concerns or incidents involving Trainee, host family or community member behavior with regards to alcohol use or culturally inappropriate behavior that places Trainees at risk.
??? Provides safety and security support to PC Trainees and staff and assists in MS270 regulations compliance.
??? Monitors safety and security environment with host families and host communities.
??? Co-facilitates safety and security sessions with the Safety and Security Coordinator (SSC) as needed.
??? Reports all medical emergencies to community contact person, LCC, Training Manager, PST Director.
??? Acts as warden to support safety and security. These duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) Awareness and understanding of Peace Corps Safety and Security policies.

MEXICO CITY (AP) ? Mexican authorities say that three of seven suspects detained in the abduction of 12 young people from an after-hours bar in Mexico City have been released.
Federal prosecutors say in a statement the three men were let go after investigators found no evidence linking them to the May 26 disappearances.
Prosecutors said Monday that four other suspects remain in custody. They include Ernesto Espinoza Lobo, who is the co-owner of the after-hours bar from which the group was abducted.
Police in Morelos state this month found the charred body of another co-owner, Dax Rodriguez Ledezma.
Prosecutors have said the abductions were linked to a dispute between two rival drug gangs in Mexico City's rough Tepito neighborhood.

GULLANE, Scotland (AP) ? One of the greatest final rounds in a major. Two of the best shots he ever struck with a 3-wood. The third leg of the Grand Slam.
Phil Mickelson never imagined any of this happening at the British Open.
No wonder he never took his hand off the base of that silver claret jug as he talked about the best Sunday he ever had at a major. Five shots out of the lead, Mickelson blew past Tiger Woods, caught up to Lee Westwood and Masters champion Adam Scott, and won golf's oldest championship with the lowest final round in his 80 majors.
With four birdies over the last six holes, Mickelson closed with a 5-under 66 for a three-shot win over Henrik Stenson.
No longer is he mystified by links golf, and he has his name etched in that jug to prove it.
"This is such an accomplishment for me because I just never knew if I'd be able to develop the game to play links golf effectively," Mickelson said. "To play the best round arguably of my career, to putt better than I've ever putted, to shoot the round of my life ... it feels amazing to win the claret jug."
Introduced as the "champion golfer of the year," he held the oldest trophy in golf over his head to show it off to one side of the massive grandstand lining the 18th green at Muirfield, and then the other. An hour earlier, they gave the 43-year-old Mickelson the loudest ovation of the week as he walked up the final fairway.
He drained an 8-foot birdie putt and thrust his arms in the air, hugged caddie Jim "Bones" Mackay and whispered to him, "I did it." After signing for the lowest final round ever at Muirfield, Mickelson huddled with his wife and three children ? back from a quick holiday to Spain ? for a long embrace and waited for the others to finish.
Westwood, who started the day with a two-shot lead, fell behind for the first time all day with a bogey on the par-3 13th hole and never recovered, closing with a 75.
Scott took the outright lead with a 4-foot birdie on the 11th, and then closed as sloppily as he did last year when he threw away the Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes. He made four straight bogeys starting at the 13th, and a final bogey on the 18th gave him a 72. At least he has a green jacket from the Master to console him.
Woods, in his best position to win a major since the crisis in his personal life, stumbled badly on his way to a 74 and was never a serious challenger.
"We know that he goes for broke, and if that's how he was feeling and pulling it off, he's got the ability to do that," Scott said about Mickelson. "And he's gone and won an Open easily. So every credit to him."
At the end of a rough-and-tumble week along the Firth of Forth, Mickelson was the only player under par at 3-under 283. In his four other majors ? three Masters and one PGA Championship ? he had never started the final round more than one shot behind.
"I don't care either way how I got this trophy ? I got it," Mickelson said. "And it just so happened to be with one of the best rounds of my career, which is really the way I've played my entire career. I've always tried to go out and get it. I don't want anybody to hand it to me. I want to go out and get it. And today, I did."
Westwood, whose only other 54-hole lead in a major ended with Mickelson winning the Masters, paid tribute to Lefty for what will go down as one of the great closing rounds in a major.
"When you birdie four of the last six of a round any day, that's good going," Westwood said. "With a decent breeze blowing and some tough flags out there, it's obviously a pretty good experience. When you do it in a major championship, it's an even better experience."
But this major? Phil Mickelson?
He had only contended twice in two decades at golf's oldest championship. One week after he won the Scottish Open in a playoff on the links-styled course of Castle Stuart, Mickelson was simply magical on the back nine of a brown, brittle Muirfield course that hasn't played this tough since 1966.
Tied for the lead, Mickelson smashed a 3-wood onto the green at the par-5 17th to about 25 feet for a two-putt birdie, and finished in style with a 10-foot birdie putt on the 18th to match the lowest score of this championship.
"Those two 3-woods were the two best shots of the week, to get it on that green," Mickelson said. "As I was walking up to the green, that was when I realized that this is very much my championship in my control. And I was getting a little emotional. I had to kind of take a second to slow down my walk and try to regain composure."
Mickelson figured a par on the 18th would be tough for anyone to catch him. When the ball dropped in the center of the cup, he raised both arms in the air to celebrate his fifth career major, tying him with the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Byron Nelson.
"Best round I've ever seen him play," said his caddie, Jim "Bones" Mackay.
His final surge was right about the time Westwood and Scott began to fold.
Scott, trying to join an exclusive list of players who have won a green jacket and a claret jug in the same year, made a remarkable recovery from the dunes right of the par-3 13th hole, only to miss the 7-foot par putt. He took three putts for bogeys on the next two holes ? from long range on the 14th, and from 20 feet on the 15th ? and found a bunker on the next.
Westwood started to lose his grip on the jug with bogeys on the seventh and eighth, and failing to birdie the downwind, par-5 ninth. Presented with birdie chances early on the back nine, his putting stroke began to look tentative.
Westwood and Scott tied for third with Ian Poulter, who played a four-hole stretch in 5-under around the turn and closed with a 67. At 1-over 285, he canceled a flight home in case of a playoff. Moments later, with Mickelson pulling away, the outcome was clear.
Jack Nicklaus said on Twitter, "Phil's round was incredible. After his bad break on 16 and to then get up and down showed a lot of guts. And the two great shots at 17 ended the tournament."
Making this even sweeter for Mickelson is that just one month ago he lost out on yet another chance to win the U.S. Open, the missing link of a career Grand Slam. Mickelson twice made bogey with wedge in his hand on the back nine at Merion and had his record sixth runner-up finish.
Woods, Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen are the only players to win all four professional majors. Mickelson figured it would be the British Open that would hold him back. Now he has the jug, and he never took his hand off it during his press conference.
"I think that if I'm able to win the U.S. Open and complete the career Grand Slam, I think that that's the sign of the complete, great player," Mickelson said. "And I'm a leg away. And it's been a tough leg for me."
For now, Mickelson takes his place among an elite list of winners at Muirfield, which is considered the fairest of the links on the British Open rotation. All but two of the Open champions at Muirfield are in the World Hall of Fame. Mickelson is the only winner who already has been inducted.
It was the 43rd win of his PGA Tour career. The guy who once couldn't win the big one now has five majors in the last nine years. This one returns him to No. 2 in the world ranking for the first time in nearly three years.
Woods, meanwhile, now has gone 17 majors without winning, and that pursuit of Nicklaus and his benchmark of 18 majors ? Woods is stuck on 14 ? doesn't look any closer. He three-putted twice in four holes at the start of the round and looked like just another contender on this Sunday.
He attributed his poor day to not getting the right pace on the greens, which he said were progressively slower.
"I felt like I was really playing well today, actually the whole week, " said Woods, who has not broken 70 in the final round of his last seven majors. "I really hit so many good shots and really had control of my ball this week. As I said, it was just trying to get the speed, and I just didn't get it."

Ghosts beat minions as 'Conjuring' horror flick leads box office

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "The Conjuring," a low-budget horror movie about a haunted farmhouse, spooked two pricey competitors and the "Despicable Me" minions to win a crowded weekend box office contest at U.S. and Canadian theaters.
"Conjuring" soared past forecasts with $41.5 million in domestic ticket sales in its first three days, the highest take among four new films, according to studio estimates. The strong performance from "Conjuring" knocked two-time champion "Despicable Me 2" to second place with $25.1 million.
Both movies topped the weak results for big-budget entries "Turbo" and "R.I.P.D.," which both fell short of already low expectations from some box office analysts.
Animated film "Turbo," the story of a racing snail, landed in the No. 3 slot with $21.5 million from Friday through Sunday. Sci-fi comedy "R.I.P.D." floundered in seventh with $12.8 million.
"The Conjuring," produced for just under $20 million, stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as a couple who investigate paranormal activity inside a Rhode Island farmhouse. The movie followed the successful path of other inexpensive horror films such as "Mama" and "The Purge" that grabbed big sales in their opening weekends this year.
"It so overperformed anybody's wildest expectations," said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros' executive vice president for domestic distribution. "We originally thought if we open in the mid-20s, that's a strong result and we'd be very happy with that."
Family audiences kept coming for the animated "Despicable 2," one of the summer's biggest hits, which brought its global total through Sunday to $585 million, distributor Universal Pictures said. The film features the voice of Steve Carell as Gru, leader of the singing-and-dancing yellow minions.
Continued interest in "Despicable" stalled the debut of "Turbo," which features the voice of Ryan Reynolds as a snail that acquires super-fast powers after a freak accident.
The movie, produced by "Shrek" creator DreamWorks Animation, turned in one of the studio's lowest recent debuts. Its Friday-to-Sunday sales came in below last year's box office disappointment, the holiday-themed "Rise of the Guardians."
With a head start on the weekend, "Turbo" added $9.7 million on Wednesday and Thursday at North American (U.S. and Canadian) theaters, plus $22.6 million from international openings, which only covered about one-quarter of all international markets. DreamWorks spent roughly $135 million to make the film.
"We're in a very competitive marketplace but we have a ton of summer play time left, so we'll see," said Chris Aronson, president of domestic distribution for 20th Century Fox, the studio that released "Turbo," speaking to the film's opening numbers and its prospects.
Aronson said "Turbo" had "very strong openings" internationally, and an A-plus Cinemascore rating from moviegoers under age 25, which he said "bodes very well for its playability," or future box office prospects.
"R.I.P.D." was nearly as expensive as "Turbo," costing Universal Pictures about $130 million. The movie features "Turbo" star Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as lawmen in the "Rest in Peace Department" who come back from the dead to fight crime.
"R.I.P.D." added $6.8 million in international markets for a global total of $19.6 million through Sunday.
"In this crowded marketplace, R.I.P.D. did not find the size audience it needed and Universal is disappointed in the weekend result," said Nikki Rocco, president for domestic distribution at Universal Pictures.
Rocco said it was offset by "a fabulous year for Universal," which has now hit $1 billion at the box office for the year thus far, the earliest date the studio has ever reached that level.
Rounding out the top of the charts, the Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups 2" took the No. 4 slot, pulling in $20 million during its second weekend.
Newcomer "Red 2," an action comedy aimed at older adults, landed in fifth place with 18.5 million, which studio officials said was in line with their expectations. The film stars Bruce Willis as a retired CIA agent who reunites a group of operatives to track down a missing nuclear device.
"The Conjuring" was released by Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc. "Red 2" was released by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp, distributed "Despicable Me 2" and "R.I.P.D." Sony Corp's movie studio released "Grown Ups 2."

Kuroda, Rivera key Yankees' 5-2 win over Red Sox
BOSTON (AP) ? Mariano Rivera has jogged from the right-field bullpen to the Fenway Park mound a number of times in his 18-year career. He's probably never been greeted like he was by the rival Red Sox fans on Saturday.
Rivera entered to a nice ovation and worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 31st save, closing out a strong effort by New York's pitchers that carried the Yankees to a 5-2 victory.
"I always love to pitch here, always," the 43-year old Rivera said. "Yankee Stadium's home, but I love to come here. It's a great atmosphere. We've played big games here. It's always good."
Lyle Overbay and Brett Gardner each collected three hits and drove in a run to back Hiroki Kuroda's seven strong innings. David Robertson worked a scoreless eighth, setting the stage for Rivera, the All-Star game MVP.
"That doesn't surprise me," Overbay said of Rivera's ovation. "He deserves it. I think everybody's embracing what he's done as a pitcher, so it's well-deserving and shows you the respect they have for him."
Rivera could smile when he was reminded about a standing ovation he got on opening day in 2005, the year after Boston rallied from a 3-0 deficit against New York in the American League Championship series en route to the World Series title.
"That's what happened," he said.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the injury-riddled Yankees, who hope to be bolstered by the return of captain Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez soon.
Mike Carp had three hits and scored a run for the Red Sox. It was just Boston's second loss in its last 11 games in Fenway.
In a matchup of veteran right-handers, Kuroda and John Lackey both mostly relied on fastballs in the low 90s with hard sliders to go along with outstanding control. The pair combined for just one walk ? by Kuroda ? and threw a high percentage of strikes.
"It was a close game all along, so I had to be careful with my pitches," Kuroda said through a translator. "But when they gave me the run support, I think I was able to be more bold."
Kuroda (9-6) gave up two runs and five hits, striking out four with a pair of wild pitches ? one that led to a run. Robinson Cano added two RBIs.
"I think what was most impressive was, in these conditions, to be able to touch 95 in the sixth, seventh innings against the meat of our order when he needed it," Boston manager John Farrell said of the 38-year-old Kuroda. "He's a very good pitcher and had a good day today."
The game was tight when Lackey left with a pair of runners on, trailing 2-0 in the seventh. New York then built its lead to 4-0 in the inning on consecutive RBI singles by Cano and Overbay against reliever Matt Thornton.
Lackey (7-7) was charged with four runs on 10 hits in 6 1-3 innings, striking out seven. It snapped a stretch of six consecutive starts when he allowed two or fewer runs, and was just the third time in his 17 starts this season he's given up more than three.
"With how good their guy pitched, it doesn't really matter," Lackey said of being in a tight game. "I'm kind of used to it. A lot of mine have been like that this year. It's kind of been fun."
Jonny Gomes had a sacrifice fly and Carp scored on Kuroda's wild pitch, cutting it to 4-2 in the seventh.
Pitching in sweltering conditions with a game-time temperature of 91 with oppressive humidity, the pair battled through four scoreless innings until New York took a 1-0 lead in the fifth on Gardner's two-out, RBI single.
It appeared the Yankees had squandered a good chance when they had a runner cut down at the plate on Luis Cruz's grounder to short. But Cruz, who reached on the fielder's choice on the play, advanced on a wild pitch before Gardner's soft liner up the middle just got past the glove of diving second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Eduardo Nunez had a leadoff single, stole second, and was sacrificed, but was thrown out by Stephen Drew.
Cruz's RBI single made it 2-0 in the seventh before Cano and Overbay added their hits.
Boston also had a runner nailed at the plate when Carp was tagged out by Kuroda in the fifth, ending the inning after his pitch ticked off the glove of catcher Stewart and about 20 feet behind the plate.

Florida Mom Uses Baby As Human Shield While Fleeing Police

A Florida woman who walked out of a Dillard?s with more than $200 worth of clothing hidden in a baby stroller is facing a number of charges ? including child abuse ? after she literally THREW her three-month-old daughter at police (after using the baby as a human shield) in a failed getaway attempt.
Police say 23-year-old Ashley Wright, of Pensacola, Fla. was spotted by a store employee with about $260 worth of adult clothes in her daughter?s baby stroller. When she left the store and got in her car, she was approached by a deputy who ordered her to get out.
She refused, obviously, and shouted at her husband to get in the car so they could leave. At one point, she ?grabbed the baby carrier and held it in front of her screaming, ?You will have to shoot through the baby to get to me!? according to a sheriff?s report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
As Wright cursed and screamed at a deputy, two other small children ? a little 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl ? were watching from the backseat.

The Pensacola resident then jumped out of the car and ?began running away from it with the baby carrier,? which held her infant daughter. As a deputy closed in on her, Wright ?threw the baby carrier?at me, about shoulder height,? the report notes.
After dodging the airborne carrier and the 14-pound baby, the deputy apprehended Wright, but not without a struggle. Wright, who was bleeding after she tripped and hit her head on the ground, shook her head from side-to-side, spraying deputies with blood. ?Now you mother fuckers have my blood all over you bitches,? she remarked.
Thank GOD the baby wasn?t injured. What type of parent not only uses her infant child as a human shield, but also TOSSES her baby at a police deputy while trying to get away with a couple of stolen outfits, none of which were even for her children, mind you.
When Wright arrived for treatment at a local hospital, she was a lot more calm and explained to police that her ?night of bad decisions? probably had something to to with the beers she drank earlier that day.
Wright admitted to stealing the clothes, but claimed ?it was because her kids needed school clothes,? but the only thing she stole was a woman?s shirt and two pairs of ?Miss Me? jeans, not children?s clothing.
In addition to felony child abuse for throwing her baby and using her as a human shield, Wright was also charged with petty theft and resisting an officer. She was reportedly booked into the county jail and her bond was set at $7,000.

India Yamaha Motor voluntarily recalls 56,082 units of Ray scooter

NEW DELHI: In the biggest ever safety recall of two wheelers in India, Japanese two wheeler company Yamaha Motors would replace handlebar in 56,082 Ray scooter that might impact the steering operation.The company's wholly owned local subsidiary, India Yamaha Motor (IYM), is recalling Ray scooter produced from September 2012 onwards. "The company has taken this voluntary step after it detected insufficient strength in the handlebar of some scooters due to inadequate welding. The recall campaign on 56,082 units of Ray would cover the handlebar fitted in the scooters that may in the worst case scenario have an impact on the steering operation," IYM said in a statement.
The company had sold a total 60,281 scooters in FY's2012 and another 34,583 scooters in the first quarter of this fiscal. It sells two models Ray and Ray Z in India. "The fault in Ray was identified during one of the field studies. The company found that the handlebar fitted in few Ray scooters were affected by this potential safety issue," the company added. Yamaha will replace the handlebar in all such scooters free of charge.
The company plans to begin the voluntarily recall exercise today through theRay Refresh Campaignwhich will be run through the company's dealership networks across the country. The customers will be contacted through mail as well as phone calls to replace the affected part through this campaign. The other model Ray Z scooters is not affected by the rcall.
Yamaha sells around 10 bikes and two scooters in the domestic market. With overall sales of 3.62 lakh, the world's second largest two wheeler company has a miniscule 2.63% share in the 1.37 crore market of two wheelers in India that is lead by Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motors and Bajaj Auto.

Police said she was on the ground and covered in fire-retardant foam that rescuers had sprayed on the wreckage.
Ye Meng Yuan and her middle school classmate, 16-year-old Wang Linjia, died on July 6 at San Francisco International Airport. The other victim, 15-year-old Liu Yipeng, died at a hospital on July 12. Dozens of others were injured.
The teenagers were part of a group of students and teachers from the school who were heading to summer camp in Southern California. Yuan and Linjia were seated at the back of the plane, federal investigators have said.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the crash itself continues. Investigators have said the plane came in too low and too slow, clipping its landing gear and then its tail on a rocky seawall just short of the runway.

Paid Apps On The Decline: 90% Of iOS Apps Are Free, Up From 80-84% During 2010-2012, Says Flurry
The trend toward more mobile applications going free continues, app analytics provider Flurry confirms this morning in a new report focused on app price changes over time. iPhone 3- Was set up with someone elses iTunes account, are they able to access my phone?
My phone recently for no apparent reason came up with the iTunes symbol and a pic of a USB cord. Apple seems thus far unable to access any of my data-like my contacts which is the most important.
My ex initially set up my phone on his iTunes account, he hates me now, and I never even gave the fact that he set up my phone with his password and id until this happened.
is it possible for someone else to remotely access my phone if they have the itunes id and pw that my phone has been operating off of?
i right away signed up for my own itunes account, but i am just wondering if it is possible he wiped my phone or installed malware.

So I?ve had a tour of the Marker Hotel?in Grand Canal Square (big rooms, gorgeous architecture). I?ve been to the rooftop bar (breathtaking views all the way out to the sea). I?ve eaten lunch in the restaurant and had a drink in the bar. I?ve?even tried a cronut (a croissant-donut hybrid that?s exclusive in Ireland to the Marker, available to buy at ?10 for four and devilishly delicious).
So really, all that was left to sample was its first-floor spa, which offers Kerstin Florian face and body treatments, Waxperts waxing and Gelish nail polish. I opted for the customised deep cleansing facial ? between the heat, the heavy makeup I torture myself with for TV and the fact that I was recently bridesmaid in a wedding (the stress!), my skin has been suffering a bit and could do with a thorough cleansing.
Though I?d seen the spa on my Marker tour, I hadn?t really got a chance to experience it ? to swim in the infinity pool (lovely, but a little warm for my liking), to lounge in the Jacuzzi (perfect), sit in the sauna and steam room (delightful but, again, it?s too warm for this lark) and indulge in a treatment in one of four treatment rooms (when you book in for a treatment you are then entitled to the use of the wellness area, which includes the pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi).
My therapist, Nicola, met me in the relaxation area, which is very cool ? kitted out with bean bags, cocoon seats suspended from the ceiling (which I didn?t try as I feared I wouldn?t be able to get out, and would have to crawl, like a large caterpillar, on to the floor) and comfy bed-seats. I was reading Food & Wine at the time. (One complaint? When in the spa / hairdresser / nail parlour, I like to read Heat and Now. I don?t buy them myself, but that?s part of the fun.)
The facial itself was fabulous. Thorough and relaxing ? at one point I fell asleep with?a mud mask on my face while Nicola massaged my feet ? the facial incorporated everything one could want from a facial. Mask, extraction, exfoliation, massage (to face, head and feet) and, ultimately, a feeling of great wellbeing and freshness to the skin.?Nicola also gave me some great recommendations based on my skin type (it?s oily but dehydrated, which is apparently very common, especially when the weather is warm) and didn?t (crucially!) try to push any products on me.
In terms of invigoration and thorough extractions, Omorovicza is still the clear winner, but for relaxation and a generally delightful experience (with a post-treatment sorbet and lemonade, a classy touch), the Marker is top dog.
The Customised Deep Cleansing Facial lasts 60 minutes and is ?95 midweek, ?110 at weekends. I was a guest of The Marker.

I have tried emailing all owners of this website more than once but have had no replies. Being a new member, I am unable to contact the character's owner directly. CHARLOTTE ? Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in front of a northwest Charlotte church.
The body of 43-year-old Cedric Miller was found on Lakewood Avenue. A call came in around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, and police arrived on the scene and found Miller in the street in front of Faith Memorial Baptist Church with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members say they were with him just hours earlier, celebrating their sister's 60th birthday.
"He just got out of jail and was turning his life around. Now he's leaving his son and daughter,? said Yvonne Campbell, Miller's sister. ?What are we going to tell his daughter? She's only 4 years old.?
"He did a lot of stuff, but he put that in the past,? said his brother, Larry Miller. ?But I guess it came back to haunt him.?
This is no word yet on any possible suspects. Police are canvassing the neighborhood to see if anyone saw or heard anything.

As Detroit breaks down, scourge of arson burns out of control

(Reuters) - On the night of July 4, some Detroit residents watched fireworks, and others just watched fires, more than a dozen in a space of two hours.
The Independence Day blazes marked the latest flare up of a longtime scourge in Detroit - arson.
It is a problem that has festered in the city for decades and has persisted even as the population declined. With the city now teetering on the verge of bankruptcy, the futile struggle to contain arson is an insistent reminder of the depths of Detroit's decline.
"It's not safe here. It's a war zone," Terrence Coleman, a 52-year-old resident, said as embers from a blaze on Detroit's east side rained down on him. "This whole neighborhood is going to burn down one day, I'm afraid."
As firefighters attacked flames raging in two adjacent vacant houses, they called for backup equipment that never came. Five blazes had broken out in 25 minutes, all suspected arsons, and the Detroit Fire Department, where budget cuts have led to a crippling shortage of equipment and manpower, could provide no extra help.
In the next two hours, at least 10 more suspicious fires broke out, leaving skeleton crews to battle the blazes.
In Detroit, arsons are so frequent - about 5,000 estimated last year by the Detroit Fire Department - that authorities can only investigate about one of every five suspicious fire cases, Fire Commissioner Don Austin said.
Detroit has a legacy of troubles with arson. Hundreds of blazes were set during riots in late July 1967 that followed a police raid on an unlicensed, after-hours bar. For more than 30 years, "Devils Night" fires on the night before Halloween numbered in the hundreds, peaking at around 800 in the mid-1980s.
In recent years, arsons connected to Halloween have declined, in part due to the city's reduced population. Even so, the total number of arsons each year has changed little since the 5,100 fires set in 2000.
The city is fighting those fires with far fewer resources than in the past. Mayor Dave Bing reduced the fire department's $184 million budget by 20 percent last year. A third of the fire companies were shut, firefighter wages were cut by 10 percent, and rigs quickly went into disrepair.
In a city that averages about 14 arsons a day, there are only 11 arson investigators, down from more than 20 in 2009.
"A fire is not determined to be arson until an arson investigator makes that determination," Austin told Reuters. "Arson investigators are investigating the scene of only 20 percent of all fires."
Arsons are more prevalent in aging Rust Belt cities than in other parts of the country, but Detroit is in a class of its own. Last year, arson fires caused nearly $200 million in property damage in Detroit - more than the losses in the industrial cities of Buffalo, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Milwaukee combined.
With more than 80,000 abandoned buildings spread across 139 square miles, Detroit is fertile ground for arsonists. Homes that could never sell on the market are burned allegedly for insurance money, and people tired of abandoned buildings torch them, according to fire investigators. Thrill-seekers toss Molotov cocktails at vacant structures in drive-by arsons.
There is no quick fix in sight. But arson vexes the city so deeply that Kevyn Orr, the emergency manager appointed by the Michigan governor to fix Detroit's decrepit finances, has said he needs to act to address the rash of fires, too.
Orr said he plans to use some of the money saved by halting payments to creditors for improvements to fire technology and vehicle upgrades. He also said the city has a 50/50 chance of a bankruptcy filing, a decision he is expected to reach as soon as this month.
Just before taking office in March, Orr told Reuters that fire and other public safety issues would be his top priority. "We can't waste time finding solutions," he said. "Everyone deserves to feel safe in their homes."
Even so, fire union officials have complained that Orr has not held substantive, one-on-one discussions with them yet. And Orr's actions so far have not assuaged their concern that the fire department is understaffed and ill-equipped.
"We're in a crisis and one fire way from a disaster," warned Dan McNamara, president of the Detroit Fire Fighters Association, who represents 917 active members. "The city can't continue to operate like this."
Arson has a serious impact on the city's social fabric. Property values plummet, neighborhood cores burn out, and residents flee at alarming rates, urban affairs experts said. Detroit's population decline in the last decade was steeper than any other major American city.
"It's another reason people are getting out of the neighborhoods as fast as possible," said demographer Kurt Metzger, director of Data Driven Detroit, a data analysis organization. "People are having a difficult time hanging on to some sense of neighborhood. Kids are walking past dangerous, burned-out homes on their way to school."
The high arson rate does more than leave its scars on downtown neighborhoods. It also spells trouble for homeowners and businesses throughout the city and beyond, industry experts said.
"Insurance fraud, including arson, hikes up insurance premiums paid by consumers by 10 percent," said Peter Kuhnmuench, executive director of the Insurance Institute of Michigan. "When nearly 30 percent of all fires are arson or suspected arson in this state, there is a hit to policyholders' wallets."
Reuters studied online insurance quotes on five $100,000 homes in several Detroit neighborhoods and found the premiums were at least three times higher than the quotes for $100,000 homes in suburban neighborhoods.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners on its website states that homeowner insurance rates vary by location and largely are determined by the prevalence of crime, the quality of the fire department and the availability of fire hydrants.
"Arson definitely has a big impact on insurance rates and everyone in the community," said Angie Rinock, spokeswoman for State Farm Fire and Casualty Co in Michigan.
Detroit homeowner Harold Davis lives on a block with four burned-out houses. But homeowner insurance has become so expensive - $3,000 a year in a neighborhood where houses recently have sold for around $5,000-he dropped his coverage.
"It's only a matter of time before someone burns down this whole block," Davis, 65, told Reuters. "I can't blame the insurance companies."
Detroit arsonists are rarely caught. Nationally, about 20 percent of intentionally set fires lead to arrests, according to FBI data. In Detroit, investigators solved only 100 of the 5,000 arson cases in 2011, the last year for which records are available, city records show.
Insurance companies have responded by devoting more resources to the city. State Farm is one of several companies that have assigned its own investigators and arson dogs to Detroit.
A documentary about Detroit's fire epidemic, "Burn," received critical acclaim last year for exploring the crisis through the eyes of firefighters.
"Arson is a form of self-expression in a place where you can't express yourself," Brenna Sanchez, co-producer/director of "Burn," told Reuters.
Sanchez said she sees little hope for solving the arson epidemic until Orr begins making progress on other Detroit problems. "Kevyn Orr cannot improve the situation until people stop feeling desperate," she said. "It's a question of improving the quality of life of residents."

Sony 4K TV At Best Buy
Sony has their 55 inch 4K TV setup at Best Buy and I have to say I am not really impressed. It was running the Sony Demo that is in 4K but it just didn't seem that much better than 1080p Panasonic Plasma next to it. I guess the real benefit will be with larger screens like 80" I would much rather see some OLED TV?s. Anyone else set eyes on a 4K yet?

Anthony Pettis replaces injured T.J. Grant, setting up anticipated rematch with Benson Henderson
Anthony Pettis was supposed to open August fighting Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title. Instead, after two injuries, Pettis will instead close the month rematching Benson Henderson at UFC 164 on Aug. 31 in Milwaukee for the UFC lightweight belt.
Pettis defeated Henderson in the final event in World Extreme Cagefighting history, lifting that organization's belt from Henderson by pulling off the now-legendary "Showtime kick" in the waning moments of a close fight. Pettis leaped up against the cage, pushed off and blasted a surprise Henderson in the head with a kick.
That move, one of the most spectacular in modern mixed martial arts history, lifted Pettis to the WEC title.
Henderson later went on to win the UFC lightweight belt and was supposed to defend it against T.J. Grant at UFC 164. But, according to UFC president Dana White, Grant suffered an injury and had to withdraw.
Grant tweeted that he suffered a concussion while practicing jiu-jitsu and had to withdraw. He also tweeted that it was not a conspiracy by the UFC to get Pettis onto the card.
But that opened the door for the Henderson-Pettis rematch. Pettis had injured a knee that forced him to pull out of his planned Aug. 3 featherweight title fight with Aldo in Brazil. He was replaced on that card by "The Korean Zombie," Chan Sung Jung.
MMA Junkie first reported Grant's injury and the coach of Pettis as his replacement.
Pettis coach Duke Roufus said Pettis' knee "is feeling great after rehab."
White was ecstatic to be able to make the bout and said he thinks the UFC is set up for a memorable finish to 2013.
"If all of these fights we have set hold up and no one else gets hurt, this is going to be the baddest string of fights we've ever done in a six-month period," White said. "Without question, this will be the best second-half of a year in UFC history."
White noted that the string began last week with Chris Weidman's stunning upset win over middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 162 in Las Vegas.

? Oct. 19, UFC 166 in Houston, Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos III for the UFC heavyweight title.
? Nov. 16, UFC 167 in Las Vegas, Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks for the UFC welterweight title.
? Dec. 28, UFC 168 in Las Vegas, Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate II for the UFC women's bantamweight title.
White spent much of his day Friday in Los Angeles negotiating with Silva about a rematch with Weidman that he hopes to put on UFC 168. Silva has commitments to sponsors he's already made, though, that may make it impossible for him to fight as soon as December.
"We'd love to have him on that New Year's Eve card in Vegas," White said. "That would be sick. We're working on that, but all that stuff Anderson has going on is why the Super Bowl card is still a possibility."
Pettis could be reached for comment on Friday, but Roufus was with Pettis when he was offered the fight with Henderson. He was thrilled, not only for the title opportunity but for the chance to do it in Milwaukee, his hometown.
"Anthony and I received the news together here," Roufus said. "He can't wait to get the UFC championship. Ben is a great fighter, but Anthony is a special fighter who will beat Ben again."
White said one of the reasons he likes Pettis so much is that he is willing to fight anyone at any time. He said Pettis had no concern about having started to get ready to fight at featherweight and then having to go up and fight at lightweight.
Pettis, he said, just loves to compete in big fights.
"What I love about this guy is he doesn't give a [expletive] about stupid [expletive] like whether it's at 145 or 155 or where it is or when it is or any of that," White said. "He has the attitude, 'I'm the best. I'm going to win. I don't care when or where. Let's do it.' Those are the kind of guys I love."
White also said he is in talks to re-sign heavyweight Roy Nelson, whose contract expired in June after a loss to Stipe Miocic at UFC 161 in Winnipeg. White said if he re-signs Nelson in time, he plans to pair him with Daniel Cormier at UFC 166 on the Velasquez-dos Santos III undercard.
Nelson and Cormier have had a feud on social media and have been eager to fight. Cormier is also Velasquez's training partner, close friend and wrestling coach.
